Cottonwood Fire
CENTRAL OREGON — A wildfire named the Cottonwood Fire was deemed to be a spot fire from the Crazy Creek Fire which was detected about 1.25 miles away and was listed as a new start on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

The exact cause of this spot fire is unknown and Law Enforcement Officials are currently investigating.
The fire had grown to 15 acres last night and multiple aviation assets were on order which included a VLAT (Very Large Air Tanker) and an addition of a hotshot crew.
Today, the fire has burned about 17 acres.
No additional resources have been ordered and Fire Officials appear to have this one under control.
