Upper Ruby Fire | September 1, 2024 | 0915 PT
PEND OREILLE COUNTY, WA — The Upper Ruby Fire is located about 16 miles northwest of Cusick and five miles due west of Blueslide burning in the Ruby Creek drainage in the Colville National Forest (USFS).

About 280 acres have been burned. It now has a 94% containment status on it.
Fire Officials expect full containment to occur by September 10, 2024. It originally started on August 20, 2024.
The cause is unknown at this time.
There are about 185 total personnel with seven crews and seven engines assigned.
During the peak of the incident, some firefighters were dispatched from all over the country and around the Globe to assist with U.S. wildfire incidents.
Incident Cooperators included the NE WA Fire Information, US National Weather Service – Spokane, Washington, Ruby Creek Resort, NE Region IMT3 Team 3, and the Pend Oreille County Emergency Management.
The total CTD has reached about 3.7 Million Dollars.
