Borel Fire

KERN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

The BOREL FIRE broke out on July 24, 2024, around 1259 hours PT, from an unknown cause that is still under investigation. It is located on Hwy 178, east of Democrat, California in the Sequoia National Forest.

Today, the fire has burned a total of 59,288 acres and there is a 95% containment status.

The Incident Management Team is under a CAIIMT Team 2.

There is a total of 45 personnel still assigned to the incident who will remain by working on completing all of their fire objectives which include fire containment, suppression repair, and community protection.

About 29 structures were damaged along with destroying 223 homes, commercial and other minor buildings.
