BACHELOR COMPLEX

The fires located inside the BACHELOR COMPLEX are located on Mt. Bachelor and about 20 miles southwest of Bend, OR, in the Deschutes National Forest, which started on September 8, 2024,

Active fire behavior with flanking, isolated torching, and spotting.

CIMT (NW Team 3) is also managing the Flat Top, Firestone, and Little Lava Fires, which are being included in this single post.

FLAT TOP FIRE

The FLAT TOP FIRE is located about 10 miles north of Fort Roc, Oregon, and is listed at 35,780 acres and has a, 87% containment status. Fire behavior has been observed as active with flanking, isolated torching, and spotting. Fire fuels include grass and brush. Energy infrastructure is being threatened. No evacuations are in effect.

Resources: 136 personnel. 4 crews, and 7 engines.

CTD: 3.3 Million Dollars.

FIRESTONE FIRE

The FIRESTONE FIRE is located 21 miles north of Fort Rock, Oregon, and near the FLAT TOP FIRE. It is about 9,227 acres in size. It too, is showing a fire behavior of being active with flanking, isolated torching, and spotting. Energy infrastructure in this area is also being threatened. Both wildfires started on September 6, 2024.

LITTLE LAVA FIRE

An air recon was completed and smoke and heat were observed on the northern edge of the fire while a column of smoke from burnout operations to secure the southern edge of the fire was seen in the distance on Thursday, September 19, 2024.
