Yellow Lake Fire | Sit Rep 1


HEBER-KAMAS RANGER DISTRICT, UTAH — A wildfire named the Yellow Lake Fire is located east and south of the Mill Hollow Reservoir, which has crossed over the eastern side of Hwy 35 forcing it to be shut down.

The fire was first discovered on Saturday, September 28,2024, and said to be at 50 acres but has since grown significantly.

The cause is undetermined and remains under investigation.

The fire has burned about 1,500 acres of timber and standing dead & down timber.

There are four air tankers, five engines, two copters, and two crews, with additional resources on order.

Closures consist of:

  • West side: Mill Hollow
  • North of Hwy 35: Soapstone Basin area
  • East side: Wolf Creek campground
  • South: Duschene Ridge.

Fire Officials state smoke is visible from multiple areas and they are asking folks not to report it.
