Pack Trail Fire

SIT REP 1: October 5, 2024, Saturday, 1115 hours PT
WYOMING’S Pack Trail Fire is burning about 25 miles southeast of Moran, where moderate fire behavior has been observed with group torching, flanking, and backing. A name change to Pack Trail Fire occurred overnight as there were two wildfires, The Fish Creek and Pack Trail Fire merged together.
Fish Creek
The fire’s footprint expanded overnight on the south side and then came down to the Pack Trail Fire along Bull Creek.
Pack Trail Fire
There was some expansion on the Pack Trail Fire as well which moved down off the rim of the Lava Mountain escarpment. It remains above the 540 Road as of this morning’s update. The south side continues to burn into the Purdy and Lava Mountain burn scars.
Homes are threatened, which has prompted evacuations.
About 19,870 acres of timber have been burned. It now has a 10% containment status.
There is 155 total personnel with one crew, 11 engines, and four helicopters assigned to the incident and under the management of a CIMT, CA Team 10.
