A large fire is burning just outside of Ray (McKenzie), North Dakota, which started this afternoon has just jumped Hwy 2 and is heading southeast according to scanner feed.

Heavy smoke is billowing over the highway impacting traffic. One call came into dispatch of a crude oil truck in a ditch and needed assistance.

One responding unit to the scene stated that smoke is visible from two miles from their location. (unknown what location that is) but a burn call was dispatched for units to respond to 110 x Hwy 2 in Tioga.

Update @ 1603 PT: The EOC has been activated.

Update @ 1557 PT: There are two wildfires, with one near Ray, and (7) miles west of Garrison on State ND 37, in North Dakota.

Update @ 1545 PT: According to Tioga Police, the fire is burning to the southeast and is burning away from Tioga. There are no evacuations in effect. The fire is now in the area of Hwy 2.

Fire units are en route to a location for possible civilians with entrapment as reported by the Sheriff’s Office. Location unknown. Sounds very chaotic over the scanner feed and appears multiple fires are burning in various places.

Ray residents are now concerned with fire surrounding the City. Fire Officials are trying to mitigate the situation and we are hearing Ray Fire sending up heavy equipment and other Fire resources.
