As the situation unfolds, multiple new wildfires starts are igniting, there are a total of six (6) wildfires burning in Los Angeles County that started on both January 7th & 8th, with one in Ventura County. According to CAL FIRE, there have been 55 wildfires across the State have been ignited with a current of eight or so wildfires occurring just days into the new year and month.
Palisades Fire
Incident Summary | The Palisades Fire started on January 7, 2025, at 1030 hours PT southeast of Palisades Drive in the Pacific Palisades community and about four miles west of Brentwood in Los Angeles County, California.
Incident Cooperators | LAFD is the Lead Fire Agency with the following supporting as mutual aid:

This is not including the presser released earlier today, where Fire Officials stated there are 9,000 firefighters in Los Angeles County alone and state there is a shortage.
Current Status | 15,832 acres of brush and grass, 0% containment status.
As of this morning’s update to the National Interagency Fire Center or NIFC, for short. there was a report of a minimum of 300 structures lost. Fire behavior has been observed as extreme with wind-driven runs and long-range spotting. Multiple communities and critical infrastructure are currently being threatened. Evacuations are in effect along with area and road closures. A High Wind Warning remains in effect this evening from 1800 hours into Friday, January 10, 2025.
