The FRANCE CANYON FIRE was discovered on June 11, 2025, at 1500 hours, from suspected lightning that passed over the area. It is approximately six-and-a-half miles southeast of Hatch on the Powell Road within the Dixie National Forest in Utah (USA).

This is located in a remote area, where Fire Officials say there are no known threats to structures or assets in the area.
On Thursday, June 12th, the fire had pushed to the Grand View Trail near Blubber Creek, which was said to have impacted areas: Blubber Creek, Badger Creek, Proctor, and Skunk Creek. The threats had increased to challenge firefighter and life safety, natural and environmental resources.
Today, June 13th, the fire has now burned through about 400-500 acres. The Central Oregon Type 3 IMT took command this morning at 0600, while another local resource says they are on order and are due to arrive on Saturday, June 14th. Fire Officials state no threats to structures or private property currently, while other FD sources say they are. The fire has a 5% containment status.
