SIT REP 1 | ROWENA FIRE | JUNE 14, 2025, SATURDAY
WASCO COUNTY, OREGON (USA)
INCIDENT SUMMARY | The ROWENA FIRE broke out on June 11, 2025, 2.5 miles northwest of The Dalles. It was caused by human intervention from an unknown source.
SIZE UP | Currently, the fire has burned about 3,831 acres, with an increased amount of 792 acres within the last 24 hours. Fire behavior remains as active with single tree torching, spotting and with wind-driven runs. There is a 5% containment status at the time of this update.

NO AIRCRAFT/DRONES IN FIRE ZONE | Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR): A “TFR” is in place at an altitude from the surface up to and including 6500 feet, daily (24 hours) until further notice. Complete information is available at https://tfr.faa.gov/tfr3/?page=detail_5_2600. Flying a drone near or around a wildfire compromises the safety of pilots and interferes with firefighting efforts.
SATURDAY’S FIRE OFFICIAL UPDATE | “Crews will continue patrolling and mopping up along the perimeter, while line construction resumes in the southwest to clean up remaining edges. Removing hazard trees remains a top priority, especially along Highway 30 and I-84, where steep terrain and swirling winds pose safety concerns.
Structural resources remain engaged as the Oregon State Fire Marshal begins adjusting its response in line with the decreasing threat to homes.”
