The ALDER SPRINGS FIRE is burning about eight (8) miles northwest of Terrebone, Oregon, in timber, grass, and brush.

This is a human-caused fire. No person or person of interest has been arrested or detained at the time of this update, as it was stated at a recent Fire Information Meeting.

It has burned about 3,278 acres and has a 40% containment status on the wildfire itself. Resources will continue to mop up and patrol for any hot spots during night operations.

Fire behavior has been observed as active with flanking, isolated torching, and smoldering.

Numerous structures are threatened. Due to the great fire suppression and containment efforts, no lives have been lost.

Evacuations, road, and trail closures are in effect.

Cost-to-date has reached a whopping $4,200,000.
