OKANOGAN-WENATCHEE NATIONAL FOREST — The POMAS FIRE is burning about 37 miles northwest of Entiat, Washington State, in heavy slash and brush in the Glacier Peak Wilderness.

Fire behavior has been observed as active with long-range spotting, torching, and wind-driven runs.

The winds are spreading the fire north into Ice Creek and northeast into Aurora Creek, just west of Borealis Peak.

Area and trail closures are in effect.

About 910 acres have been burned and contains to remain at a 0% containment status. This was a lightning-caused fire. The estimated date for full containment has been scheduled for August 1, 2025.

No evacuation orders (mandatory and voluntary) are in effect at this time.

There is about 81 total personnel with two crews and six helicopters.

Cost-to-date has reached $3,100,000.
