The ROWENA FIRE is burning in Rowena, near The Dalles (Wasco County) in Oregon, which ignited from a human cause on June 11, 2025.
The cause is still under investigation by Fire and Law Enforcement Officials.

As of today, the fire has a 91 % containment status.
The total containment date has been slated for July 22, 2025.
The fire has burned about 3,700 acres of grass and brush.
Fire behavior has been observed as minimal with smoldering.
All evacuation orders have been lifted as of 8:00 p.m. this evening, according to a press release from the Wasco County Sheriff’s Office, prompting the American Red Cross to close its shelter.
The cost-to-date has reached $8.4 million Dollars along with over 165 total structures showing as lost.
About 104 total personnel, along with four (4) handcrews, four (4) engines, one (1) water tender, and one (1) dozer which remain assigned to this incident. The ODF IMT’s last night is tonight. The incident will transition back to a Type 3 IMT into Unified Command between Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue, ODF’s Central Oregon District – The Dalles Unit, and the U.S. Forest Service – Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area.
