INCIDENT SUMMARY

A wildfire designated as the GRANDE FIRE is burning in a remote area, south of Uncle Sam Mountain. This is about 12 miles north of Colville, Washington.
Fire Officials with the WA State DNR agency state the fire was reported on August 25, 2025. At this time, it was listed at several acres but rapidly growing and spreading in rugged terrain and within mistletoe fir.
CAUSE
It is lightning-caused.
FIRE OPERATIONS
Yesterday, on August 27th, a new spot fire ignited after it jumped the line to the south, increasing the total number to 25 acres.
COMMAND
The NE WA IMT assumed command of the fire on August 27, 2025, around 1900 hours PDT.
EVACUATIONS
There are no evacuations in effect at this time.
RESOURCES
About 137 total personnel are assigned, along with five 20-person hand crews, six engines, five water tenders, two dozers, and two skidgens.
