A wildfire named the HESPERIA FIRE was reported on June 15, 2024, at approximately 1806 hours.
It is located in the 18000 block of N Hwy173, on Arrowhead Lake Road, and about six (6) miles southeast of Hesperia (San Bernardino), California.
The initial wildfire was reported as a two-to-three-acre fire with a high rate of spread. As of this update, the fire had burned about 1,148 acres of grass and brush and has a 72% containment status, says CAL FIRE Officials.
This prompted evacuations as the fire threatened structures as it spread to near Hwy 173.
Fire behavior is listed as active with wind-driven runs.
About a total of 95 fire personnel are assigned along with six (6) crews, and 16 engines.
The cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment efforts have reached $375,000.
