Light to Medium Fuels.  Temps in 70’s.  Red Flag Warning ordered into Friday due to Santa Ana Winds. 1700+ acres burned. Steep slope conditions.  30% contained.

CAUSE

Piece of paper that caught fire from being thrown into a campfire. Fire began at approx 0555 in the vicinity of Glendora Mtn Rd & Colby Truck Trail in the San Gabriel Mtns.

0600 [5 mins into incident] – Fire crews deployed to vicinity of Glendora Mtn Rd & Colby Truck Trail. #Colby Fire in Glendora, CA.

0700 [1 hr] – The fire could be seen seven miles away in Covina.

0800 [2 hrs] – Mandatory evacuations in Glendora & surrounding cities:  Azusa, Bradbury & Duarte were being executed.  125+ acres burned. Could be seen from Ponoma.  Colleges & Schools cancelling classes.

1245 [5.75 hrs] – CAL Fire Strike Team of Engines, 2 Air Tankers deployed.
