Columbia, MD – A shooting occurred at the Maryland Mall approximately 0900 Hours PST.  Three have been reportedly have been killed.  Howard Co PD reported that when they entered the Mall, they found three killed.  One was found next to a gun and ammunition and they believe it was the suspected gunman.  No IDs on the other two victims.

Hundreds of shoppers were inside the mall at the time.  Police are currently at this time working to clear the various stores and sheltering them in a nearby AMC Theatre.  Howard County Transit and local school buses were transporting shoppers from the Mall to shelter to theatre for interviews then being released.

Howard Co Sheriffs, State Police, ATF and SWAT members of vairous Police Departments were working to clear the mall, store by store and assisting hundreds of shoppers from the building.

A media briefing was to be held at 1015 Hours PST but unfortunately it appears Twitter was having problems with their site. We will update you further on details of this incident.
