Location

The fire is located on the Pike and San Isabel National Forests and 20 miles SE of Salida, Colorado.

The wildfire has reached a point of 14,774 acres consumed.

Timber, heavy logging slash and chaparral.

This fire is being managed by a IMT 2 Team.

Fire Resources

645 personnel are assigned to this fire incident, with the support of 13 crews, 42 engines and 7 helicopters.

CURRENT FIRE STATUS

Fire Status

Active fire behavior with crowning, uphill runs and backing with a 0% containment status.  Structures are threatened and extensive structure protection  preparation was implemented today with sprinklers and air and ground support.
