OR Wildfire: Rail Fire | August 9 2016

Near Unity, Oregon |  The Rail Fire began on July 21, 2016, about 5 miles West of Unity from an unknown cause.  Currently, the fire is has minimal fire behavior with single tree torching, creeping and backing.

The fire is being managed by the North IMT #12 team.

Over 10,000 acres of grass and timber have been consumed by the fire in moderate to steep terrain.

765 personnel including 26 crews, 10 dozers, 29 engines, 19 water tenders and support from 7 helicopters.

Today’s weather included cloud cover with temps in the 60’s – 70’s and RH at 60 – 70%.

Incident Cooperators: USFS, ODOF, Baker County Sheriff Office, Baker County Emergency Services and local residents.
