Incident Summary
The Rail Fire burning near Unity, Oregon began on July 21, 2016, about 5 miles West of Unity from an unknown cause.
The fire has reached a 12% containment but has consumed 15,394 acres.
Fire fuels include grass, sage brush, and timber in moderate and steep terrain.

Command
The fire is being managed by the North IMT #12 team.
Resources
695 personnel along with the aid of 22 crews, 9 dozers, 21 engines, 19 water tenders and 8 helicopters are assigned to the fire.
Public Information Officers will be in the communities of Unity, Prairie City, Sumpter, and Baker City today to provide fire updates, maps and answer questions.
Damage Assessment
The cost of this fire to date is $6.2 Million.
