FREY GULCH FIRE

The Frey Gulch Fire was spotted on the afternoon on  Saturday, October 8, 2016, prompting a large wildland fire response launched via air and ground resources.

The fire is burning in the County Shooting Range near Silverhome of Summit County, Colorado and listed at 15-20 acres at the moment with an unknown status.

We have reached out to the Red White and Blue Fire Protection District for an update to see if it has been completely contained or is still burning.  We are awaiting their response.

There was said to be only less than 25 fire personnel from Lake Dillon Fire Rescue, USFS and Red White and Blue Fire Protection District on-scene.  Summit County Sheriff’s Office also assisted as an Incident Cooperator.

Media was reporting said the FD stated the fire appeared much worse than it was.  However, the RWB Fire Protection District called for a second alarm about 2:51 pm MDT.

Cause is unknown at this time.
