Happening NOW: Seattle Firefighters Battle House Fire

South Seattle House Burns

Firefighters were dispatched @ 1637 hours PST on Saturday to a house fire located in the 7400 block of 39th Avenue South (39th Ave S & S Austin) in Seattle, Washington.

Seattle Fire tweeted there was one occupant.  There were no reports of any entrapped inside the structure.

Possible Cause

Quickly, they were able to conduct a primary search with nothing found.  A secondary search was also completed and nothing found additionally.  However, firefighters discovered they found a possible power tap on one of the floors and were unable to de-energize it.  It appeared in earlier assessments, this could be an electrical fire.

Seattle City Light and SFD’s Fire Investigator, Marshal 5 were requested and dispatched.

Fire Tapped

The fire was tapped at 1710 hours and some units were being released from the incident.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.
