KUPER FIRE – WEST THURSTON , WASHINGTON

INCIDENT SUMMARY | W Thurston Firefighters were dispatched to a grass fire in the area of 201st to Kuper Court, Ted Street and Grand Mound Way in Rochester about 1700 hours on Wednesday evening, August 2, 2017.
SIZE UP | The fire was observed burning in a neighborhood and threatening structures, where residents were evacuated to a safe location away from the approaching wildfire. The fire scorched about 33 acres but has since has been fully contained, controlled and put out at 1946 hours PDT.
SOCIAL MEDIA | Some fire Agencies are using the hashtag #GrandMoundFire but W Thurston FD which is releasing fire pressers is reporting it under #KuperFire. We are also adding for tracking purposes #WAwildfire2017.
