TACOMA, WASHINGTON | March 18, 2021 | 0040 PT
Firefighters were dispatched at 2352 hours PT on Monday, May 17, night to an apartment complex for a working and active fire reported on they sixth floor in the 500 block of South 7th Street.
First due units arrived confirmed a working and active fire in a single unit on the sixth floor.
Within eight minutes of being on-scene, the fire was quickly knocked down and crews immediately vented the unit and checking for extensions.
Additional units were requested by Command for manpower but were later released after first due units had knocked down the fire. Some first alarm units were also being placed back in service.
Almost 20 minutes on the incident timer, firefighters successfully put the fire out.
No injuries to firefighters was reported. One occupant was injured and rescued by crews to awaiting Medics for treatment. His/Her condition is unknown at this time.
The cause is under investigation and no preliminary update has been given by Fire Officials.
