A California wildfire formerly named the CANDLE FIRE now with a new designated name as the UNION FIRE is burning on Indian Camp Road and Candle Light Drive in Jurupa Valley in Riverside County at the river bottom. It is also said to be in the Santa Ana River, east of Van Buren and near the Jurupa Hills Golf Course.
The cause is unknown and under investigation.
Resources on the scene include Riverside CAL FIRE, Ontario FD, Murrieta FD, Hemet FD, Corona FD, Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, and Riverside County Ready, as well as OCFA, is assisting.
The fire is approximately 95 acres and has a zero containment status.
Mandatory evacuation orders are in effect for:
- South of Limonite Avenue
- North of Riverview Drive
- East of Juan Diaz
- West of Maverick Lane
A reception and care center is located at Patriot High School, 4355 Camino Real, Jurupa Valley, California.
