YUBA COUNTY — A grass fire that started from an unknown cause on Saturday, July 2nd, just after 1600 hours, spread to multiple residential structures in the 4500 block of Ardmore in Olivehurst, California.
Mandatory evacuation orders went into effect for those in the following areas:
- North of 11th Avenue
- South of 7th Avenue
- East of 9th Avenue
- West of Hwy 70
Evacuation warnings are for the following areas:
- North of 7th Avenue
- South of Aspen Way
- East of Canal Street
An Evacuation Shelter was opened at the Yuba County Health and Human Services facility, located at 5730 Packard Avenue in Marysville, California. Staff is standing by to receive evacuees.
Just after 1700 hours, firefighters were reportedly able to stop the forward spread of the fire but not before unconfirmed reports of four structures being destroyed. They will be on the scene for the next few hours for mop-up operations.
CLOSURES (Hard): 11th – 9th Ardmore Avenue. Both barricades and cones will be closing these areas. AVOID THE AREA and do not try to go around them. A heavy presence of law enforcement is in the area.
Update | 1803 hours PT | 9th, and Ardmore is now being opened per law enforcement radio traffic.
