The DPS FIRE ignited on Saturday, July 3, 2022, at 1600 hours, and is burning about seven miles southeast of Florence (Williamson County) in Texas. This request was made to the TMAFS after reports of local fire resources attempting to put out the fire, along with the aid of a Travis County Starflight copter making water bucket drops.

There is approximately 42 total personnel assigned, alongside three single east air tankers (SEATs), one copter, and an air attack recon plane on the scene and actively working on/over the fire line. The Los Diablos 20-person hand crew has been requested for the next 24-hour operational period.
Heavy equipment in the area of Marble Falls is constructing containment lines to stop the spread of fire, while engine crews are mopping up and providing structure protection operations.
The fire has burned about 180 acres and has a 50% containment status.
The fire behavior has been reduced to observed minimal fire activity.
