On Sunday, March 5, 2023, there was an alert for Extreme Fire Danger due to very strong winds and low humidity less than 10%. The RED FLAG WARNING was for a time period of 1100 hours until 1900 hours.

Strong west winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 50 to 65 mph and with the strongest along the southern I-25 corridor were forecasted by the National Weather Service in Pueblo, Colorado (NWS).

We are not tracking any current wildfire incidents but the weather and ground conditions make it an easy target for fire to ignite easily which Officials are gravely concerned about new fire starts.
