A wildfire designated the Sicard Fire ignited yesterday at 1405 hours PDT is still burning in the area of Sicard Flat Road and Wandering Way in Smartsville (Yuba County), California.
The fire management is in Unified Command with CAL Fire Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit and the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office. There is no Incident Command Management assigned to this incident.
Other resources include air support from OES Intel 12, Dozer 2140, OES, Air Tankers 86, 93, and 100, Copter 202, and Helitankers 0HT and 5HT.
The cause is under investigation.
Mandatory evacuations are currently in effect for the Frontier, Lonza, and Gary communities.
The fire is said to be held at 13 acres of grass, oak woodland, and heavy brush understory have been consumed. But earlier this morning there was a 70% containment status.
