KERN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
A wildfire named the Pentland Fire is burning southeast of Maricopa in Kern County, California. It is being reported as approximately 30-4 acres in the flats with very active fire behavior with wind-driven runs out of the southwestern. The fire is being pushed to the northeast with powerlines being down.
Another fire in the area is about 1.5 acres in size and located on Hwy 166 and Basic School Road, as reported by fire news media outlets.
The main fire body and smaller spot fire, both have had the forward progression stopped.
About 84 PG&E customers are without power in the area with it having an ETA around 2145 hours PT.
Resources will remain on the fire line working on completing extensive mop-up operations.
It was stated the ending final size of the fire was said to be at 50 acres.
There is an unknown cause at the time of this update.
