UPDATE 1: SATURDAY, JUNE 17, 2023 2035 PDT
A brush fire designated as the Montezuma Fire by local Fire Officials was burning in the 37800 block of Valley View Drive in the community of Ranchita.

The initial cause was a structure fire that spread into the urban wildfire interface.
Fire units dispatched were PIO3324, C538, CNF337, E3368, E3385, E3395, FFC2, FFC5, TD3345, TW58 and TW628, along with aircraft AA330, Tankers 70 and 71, Copter 538. Aircraft would be quickly canceled due to a quick knockdown stopping the fire’s forward progression.

August 30, 2022 – Sonoma-Lake-Napa Counties
Units from the CAL FIRE Sonoma-Lake-Napa along with local fire agencies were dispatched to a call of multiple structures with no area vegetation on fire in the 4100 block of Montezuma Way in Kelseyville.

Two structures were reported by Fire Officials as completely destroyed. One patient with injuries was transported to a nearby local hospital
June 1, 2021 – San Diego
A brush fire broke out in the 27900 block of Old Mine Road in Rachita. same area but on Montezuma Valley Road in the community of Warner Springs with no structures being threatened.
The fire had burned approximately three acres and had a slow rate of spread. Fire crews quickly stopped the fire within one hour from the time of dispatch to the time back in service.
June 5, 2020 – Near Rio Vista
A windmill caught fire prompting a 3rd alarm response for a grass fire near Rio Vista.

October 9, 2019 – Solano County
A wildfire ignited and quickly was elevated to a 2nd alarm incident on Hwy 12, Olsen Road, and Hwy 113. Reports of the fire jumping the highway were covered by local fire media and news media outlets. malfunction of farming equipment sparked a massive wildfire.
