A wildfire burning in the Santa Anita Canyon, north of the dam is burning in Los Angeles County, California which broke out sometime today, July 2, 2023.
It was said to be about a 3.8-acre fire in steep, rocky terrain burning in medium brush with a slow to moderate rate of spread, as well as climbing the hill on the east side of the canyon.

Aircraft on the scene included Air Attack 52 with Lead Plane 77 with Tanker 102, two helitankers, and two additional copters on order just before 1600 hours.
Fire suppression ground resources include the USFS (Angeles National Forest), Los Angeles County Fire Department, Sierra Madre, and Arcadia Fire Departments. Law Enforcement Agency is the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
No structures in the area are not being threatened.
