Firefighters quickly egressed on the wildfire and stopped the forward progression at about five acres at this time (1835 PDT), but would later say the fire had been contained at 18 acres.

Resources would remain on the scene for about one to two hours to conduct mop-up operations.

There were no injuries reported.

BERNASCONI FIRE

A wildfire can be seen on the CAL FIRE fire cam located just south of the Ramona Expressway, near Bernasconi Road and Lake View Avenue in Lakeview (Riverside County), California on Tuesday.

The fire was reported on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, just after 1800 hours PDT.

Fire spotters are reporting the wildfire is approximately two acres with active fire behavior and a moderate rate of spread, with a potential of 25 acres or more.

Aircraft assigned to the incident have been said to be Tankers 102, 70, 72, and 73 with AA504 (Trainee) and AA500, with Copter 301 en route.
