SIT REP 1: July 14, 2023, Friday, 2315 PT

INCIDENT SUMMARY: A wildfire named the RABBIT FIRE is burning near the intersection of Alessandro Blvd. and Jack Rabbit Trail, east of Moreno Valley and near Beaumont in the community of Lakeview (Southern California).

It started on Friday afternoon at 1530 hours PT and quickly spread from that time period.

CAUSE: unknown.

FIRE TIMELINE: At the first report of the wildfire, it was reported to be 20 acres in size with a rapid rate of spread.

At 1526 hours PT, the fire had already grown to 600 acres with a 0% containment status. As of 2307, the fire had burned through 3,300 acres and still remains at the size 0% containment status.

INCIDENT COOPERATORS: CAL FIRE / Riverside Co FD, VCFD PIO, Moorpark FD, LAFD Strike Team and aviation assets listed below.

AIRCRAFT: Just before 1600 hours, four tankers were on a no-divert status due to immediate life safety threats. Resources include AA12, AA51, OES Intel 24, FIRIS, AT 40, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 78, 101, 102, 103, and 210. Copters 301, 531.

CLOSED: Hwy 79 (Lambs Canyon) from Gilman Springs to California Avenue (CAL FIRE / RCFD – 1900)
