SIT REP: Saturday, July 22, 2023, 1730 hours PT

The PELICAN LAKE FIRE broke out on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at 1710 PT, and is burning north of Pelican Lake. By standards of the Fire Service, this is considered an out-of-control wildfire, which means it is not responding to fire suppression efforts.

This fire has been added to the GILLIES COMPLEX, which includes the TEEPEE LAKE (C11499), TOWNSEND CREEK FIRE (C11290), and the BRANCH ROAD (C11243).

The suspected CAUSE of this incident is due to lightning which may have struck an object sparking the out-of-control wildfire.
