SIT REP 2: Tuesday, August 1, 2023
The BONNY FIRE is burning in the 45000 block of Bonny Lane near the unincorporated area of Aguanga (Riverside County) in the State of California (USA), which broke out on July 27, 2023, around 1452 hours PT.
(L) CAL FIRE CZU STrike Team 9170C has a Battalion Chief, three engines, and two CAL FIRE SCU engines and responds as mutual aid.
Currently, Fire Agencies CAL FIRE/Riverside County FD, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, and the Riverside County Type 3 All Hazard IMT are in Unified Command.
About 1,319 total personnel are assigned to this incident along with 85 engines, 20 water tenders, 38 hand crews, six dozers, and other types of resources listed. Air Tankers are being used as fire conditions allow them to fly.
Incident Cooperators include BLM, Burbank FD, CHP, CDOC, AMR, CA Conservation Corps, CAL FIRE Tulare Unit, CAL OES, American Red Cross, Riverside County Parks, Riverside County EMD, Riverside County Animal Services, Idyllwild FPD, Pechanga Band of Indians, Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians, Morongo Band of Mission Indians, Anza Electric Co-Ops, CAL FIRE CZU, OCFA, Cahuila Band of Indians, Eastern Municipal Water District, Lake District, and Western Science Center.

There have been 2,305 acres burned with a more recent 50% containment status.

One structure has been destroyed, with 407 still threatened. The cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment efforts has reached $16 Million Dollars.
A report of an injured firefighter has been released by the CAL FIRE agency. His or her’s condition is unknown at the time of this update.
Evacuations are still in effect for the areas north of the San Diego County line, east of Bonny Lake, south of Ramsey Road, and west of Chapman Road. The Red Cross Shelter has been moved to a virtual status, which we are unsure what this means for evacuees.

The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
