SIT REP 1: SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2024, 1630 HOURS PST

INCIDENT SUMMARY

A new fire has started on the south end of the AF Academy, west of the Pine Housing area.

CAUSE

The cause is unknown at this time.

CURRENT STATUS

All guests and residents are being asked by the Air Force to avoid the area and follow any instructions from First Responders.

No evacuation orders or notices have been issued at this time.

Many areas are currently in a RED FLAG WARNING and will remain so until tomorrow when another determination by Fire Officials will be made.

COLORADO SPRINGS FIRE DEPARTMENT (Mutual Aid): Brush units 3, 12, 15, 20, and 22, Battalion Chiefs 1 and 4, Special Operations Unit 52, plus 31 CSFD personnel, along with Wildland Units 9 and 4.
