Firefighters with the BEU unit of CAL FIRE were able to make great progress on the wildfire on Saturday, May 25, 2024, to holding at 180 acres and reaching a 10% containment status.
Tonight, the wildfire has burned a few more acres and has increased to 191 acres. Crews have successfully increased the containment status to 65 percent.

The wildfire broke out in the 4200 block on New Idria Road in Paicines (San Benito County), California on Saturday. This is said to be in the remote part of the County.
CAL FIRE was in Unified Command with the Hollister Fire Department.
Some of the units that responded were E1677, HLT46, B4606, C604, C9206, E643, E4267, E4676, E4677, E4686, E4693, GAB1, GAB3, SAFETY2, T75 and T78.
