The Aquaduct 2 Fire ignited from an unknown cause on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 1548 hours (about three hours from this post). Media outlets are reporting this was a prescribed wildfire that has escaped its containment lines.

It is located at Aqueduct Road and San Clemente Canyon Freeway in San Diego, California and the fire has a moderate fire behavior and spreading to the north.

The cause is unknown at this time and is under investigation by CAL FIRE officials.

The lead Fire Agency is CAL FIRE, San Diego.

About four hours ago, there were two (2) additional Type 1 copters and one (1) Type 3 strike team which were said to be on order.
