SIT REP 1: June 9, 2024, Sunday, 1830 hours PDT

A wildfire named the BEAR FIRE is burning about five (5) miles southwest of Cibecue, on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation in Arizona, which started on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

The fire has burned about 520 acres of pinyon-juniper and grasslands. There is a 0% containment status.

The Lead Fire Agency is U.S. Department of the Interior/BIA Forestry & Wildland Fire Management – Fort Apache Agency.

Management of the fire will be assumed on Monday, June 10th at 0700 by Ben Plumb, a Type 3 Incident Commander with the Twhite Mountain Zone Type 3 IMT.
