Engines 277 and 7800 with the Crockett Carquinez Fire Department were dispatched only moments ago to a brush fire in the 2200 block of John Henry John Parkway in Pittsburg (Contra Costa County), California.

A large smoke column can be seen from one of ALERTCalifornia’s fire cams (Evora Road) with structures in the foreground.

This is the first SIT REP for this wildfire on Sunday, June 9th.

The fire first reported by multiple sources stated it broke out from a structure fire around just before 1646 hours PDT which spread into a heavy fuel load and is very dry. It would quickly take off running uphill, which prompted a wildland fire response from CALFIRE.

Reports from CALFIRE Officials reported the fire had breached a hillside and was listed as a 10+ acre fire within 10 minutes of the first response. The IC would request two additional air tankers for a total of four in-air assets.

The fire is currently at 40 acres with a 0% containment status.

Because of structures were too close to the fire zone, a structure protection group was requested to respond to Orinda Circle.

A second alarm response has been requested as of 1736 hours PT for structure protection.
