INCIDENT SUMMARY

A wildfire named the South Fork Fire is burning in the 6300 block of Tieton Reservoir Road south of Rimrock Lake and 25 miles southwest of Naches (Yakima County) Washington which was sparked within the last 24 hours.

This is in an area that is considered to be steep and difficult to access.

RESOURCES

According to the US U.S. Forest Service – Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, there are approximately 100 total personnel along with five (5) crews, airtankers, hotshots, and copters working on a full fire suppression strategy.

CURRENT FIRE OPERATIONS

According to the USFS resources are very busy:

  • Right Flank. 2 hotshot crews have been working on this area of the fire.
  • Left Flank. Aviation Assets have been dropping retardant and water over the fireline.

CLOSURES

The following areas are closed per the USFS

* Peninsula Creek Campground

* South Fork Tieton Campground

OPEN

These areas are still considered open. Check for local changes in your area.

* Clear Creek area

THREATS

No structures, infrastructure, or other valuable assets are currently threatened. No evacuations are in effect.
