The THOMPSON FIRE is burning on Cherokee Road and Thompson Flat Road in Oroville (Butte County), California that started on July 2, 2024, at 1051 hours PT.

There have been about 3,568 acres burned and has a seven (7) % containment status.

There are multiple Shelters which include:
Evacuation Shelters: Oroville Church of the Nazarene located at 2238 Monte Vista Avenue, Oroville & Butte County Fairgrounds at 199 E. Hazel Street in Gridley, CA 95948.

Animal Shelters: Small Animal shelter is located at 2279 Del Oro Avenue in Oroville and large animals are at the Camelot Equestrian Park at 1985 Clark Road in Oroville.
There have been no reported structural damage or losses, however, there have been eight (8) confirmed fire personnel or civilian injuries reported, according to CAL FIRE Offices. However, we disagree with this assessment due to multiple structures showing going up in flames.
RESOURCES
There are 1,438 total personnel with eight (8) copters, 199 engines, 46 dozers, 49 water tenders, and 33 crews. Numerous firefighting air tankers are from various locations across the State of California.

The Lead Fire Agency is the CAL FIRE Butte Unit and command of the fire is under the CAL FIRE IMT Team 6.

The Salvation Army: Emergency Disaster Services will be serving meals and offering spiritual services to those impacted by this wildfire, which begins on July 4, 2024.

Placer County Sheriff’s Office: Evacuations in effect.
CAL FIRE: part of the Butte County Cooperative Fire Protection listing them with Butte County Fire and other Fire agencies.
Alameda County Fire: They are part of a multi-agency Strike Team.
Butte County Cooperative Fire Protection: This includes Gridley City Fire & Rescue, the City of Biggs, CAL FIRE, Butte County Fire-Rescue, and several other agencies.
