The PEDRO FIRE ignited on July 30, 2024, from an unknown cause which is currently under investigation by CAL FIRE Investigators.

It is located on Arbolada Drive in Lake Don Pedro (Mariposa County), California.

The Incident Cooperators include BLM, Mariposa County Sheriffs, Tuolumne County Sheriffs, California Highway Patrol, Cal OES, Mariposa County OES, PG&E, Mariposa Public Works, Merced Irrigation District, Red Cross, and the California Conservation Corps. The Admin Unit is the CAL FIRE Madera-Mariposa-Merced Unit.

The fire has burned about 3,815 acres and spread to two Counties: Mariposa and Tuolumne. It now has a 70% containment status.

Assigned to this incident are 534 total personnel along with a single helicopter, 31 engines, 10 dozers, 15 water tenders, 14 crews, and 66 other assigned resources.

Crews are currently mopping up and working on completing suppression repairs on the fire. They will focus on hotspots, patrolling and restoring impacted landscapes.

Two structures were said to be destroyed.
