PARK FIRE

The PARK FIRE is the largest fire incident in the State of California which started on July 24, 2024, and has literally burned 406,579 acres in four separate Counties of Butte, Plumas, Shasta, and Tehama. It has a 34% containment status.
This was an arson-caused fire and the suspect was arrested and is being held with no bail.

While he remains in jail, people have been forced to evacuate and many fleeing with everything they own on their backs and running for their lives.
Command staff is currently in Unified Command with CAL FIRE Units (Butte & Tehama-Glenn) and the USFS’s Lassen National Forest, the management of the fire is under two IMTs, CAL FIRE Team 3 and 4.
There are 6,586 Fire personnel along with 40 copters, 526 total engines, 192 dozers, 154 water tenders, 134 crews, and 127 other assigned resources.

The total cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment efforts have topped out at $102,400,000.
