PORCUPINE FIRE

Multiple resources have been urgently dispatched to the PORCUPINE FIRE, about five miles east of Princeton, and 8.5 miles southeast of Crane, Oregon has seen significantly increased fire behavior and growth today.

The wildfire has now burned over 3,000 acres and has a 0% containment status.
According to Fire Officials, the fire has been spreading westerly during this afternoon’s operational period into critically dry and heavy fire fuels in the north and northeast areas.
Dozers are working to cut containment lines around the fire perimeter, while multiple agencies, contractors, RFPA, and air assets are currently egressing on the fireline.
The local High Desert Type 3 iMT will assume command on Tuesday, August 5, 20243.
According to the OR wildcad.net system, D-2841CHSE, E-424, E-683, D-2841, and, E-330 were dispatched late this morning at 1132 hours PT on Monday, August 5, 2024.
