INCIDENT SUMMARY | The Borel Fire is burning on Hwy 1788, east of Democrat, California, which started on July 24, 2024, at 1259 hours PT.

CAUSE | The cause of the fire is listed as undetermined.

LEAD FIRE AGENCY | The Lead Fire Agency is the Sequoia National Forest.

SIZE UP | About 59,373 acres have been burned and there is a, 84% containment status.

CURRENT STATUS | Fire activity was said to be minimal overnight as ground crews were enabled by more favorable conditions to strengthen containment lines around the fire, though fire fuels continue to dry out.

RESOURCES | 1,619 total personnel.

EVACUEES | Evacuation Shelter | Tehachapi Education Center, 126 S. Snyder Avenue, Tehachapi, CA (ON STANDBY).

Assistance Center Opening | A Local Assistance Center located at the Lake Isabella Senior Center, 6401 Lake Isabella Blvd, Lake Isabella, CA 93240 will be opening on Saturday, August 10-13, 2024, from 1000 hours until 1900 hours PT.
