INCIDENT SUMMARY | The PARK FIRE ignited on July 24, 2024, around 1452 hours P off of Upper Park Road in Upper Bidwell Park, and seven miles northeast of Chico, California.

FIRE OPERATIONS | This wildfire is still burning in hot, dry, and heavy fire fuels which was sparked by an arsonist. He may be sitting in jail but the firestorm he started, continues to burn a path and destroy everything in its presence. During last night’s operations, the fire was very active with several hot spots and today, crews and aviation assets were tasked with aggressive fire tactics to hold the fire within the perimeter and structure protection of high-value assets.

COMMAND | The incident is in Unified Command which includes CAL FIRE Butte and Tehama-Glenn Units along with Lassen National Forest and being managed by the CAL FIRE IMT 3 and 4.

STAFFING | There is a total number of 6,592 personnel assigned along with 33 helicopters, 513 engines, 188 dozers, 179 water tenders, 141 crews, and 129 other assigned resources.

EVACUATIONS | Evacuations are in effect | https://www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/2024/7/24/park-fire as a high number of structures are being threatened, along with Communications infrastructure.

LOCATION | The fire is burning in several Counties: Tehama, Shasta, Butte, and Plumas, has burned about 427,067 acres. There is a 34% containment status.
