2620 Road Fire
August 21, 2024, Wednesday Fire Update
OLYMPIC PENINSULA, — A wildfire by the name of 2620 Road Fire is still burning five miles (5) west of Brinnon and north of Duckabush Road on Mt. Jupiter, Washington in a recently logged area with steep terrain and heavy fuels.

The wildfire broke out on August 14, 2024, around 1700 hours PT from an undetermined cause.
Fire behavior has been observed as active with backing, isolated torching, and torching.
About 398 total personnel along with 11 crews, 19 engines, and two copters are currently staffing this incident under Western Washington, a Type 3 IMT and the GA Type 3 IMT. The Incident Commander Kent Stanford (Western WA Type 3 IMT) assumed at 1245 hours PT on August 15, 2024.
The Lead Agency is WA DNR.
Structures and communication infrastructure are threatened, which is keeping Level 1 and 2 notifications and orders in effect:

There have been 398 acres of timber, and logging slash with an 8% containment status.
The cost to date has reached 2 Million Dollars.
