2620 Road Fire

August 25, 2024, Sunday, 1630 hours PT

The 2620 Road Fire is located north of Duckabush Road and west of Brinnon on Mt. Jupiter.

It was ignited by an unknown cause on August 14, 2024.

Today, the fire has burned about 403 acres and has a 73% containment status.

About 20 homes and 10 mixed commercial/residential structures are threatened.

There are 352 total personnel along with 14 crews and seven engines that remain on the fireline. Some of the resources assigned to this incident are starting to be released by Fire Command. The Western WA Type 3 IMT and the GA Forestry Commission Type 3 IMT along with the U.S. Forest Service and Brinnon Fire Rescue are in Unified Command.

They are working closely with the Olympic Region (WA DNR) to prepare for returning this incident back over to the local fire district.

A Temporary Flight Restriction also known as a TFR remains in effect. Fire Officials state if any drone/UAS/manned pilot enters the airspace where the TFR is located can face stiff penalties in excess of $30,000.

Evacuation orders for Duckagush Road have all been reduced to a Level 1 notification only from the 100 block and above.
